Sorry folks, but today I am really feeling sarcastic and I may say some things that might hurt some peoples felings and/or make them really pissed off at me, but who cares..;)..and so we begin........
Two loonngg years, that's all it's taken for me to arrive at 5,000 pageviews. Is this like about a normal time for this to happen here on DA or is it just me? I watch these other people on DA and they can receive 5,000 pageviews within a matter of days. The ones I'm talking about are the ones that take zee pictures of zee naked ladies. All they have to do is take a few hundred photos and pick out the best ones and post them. To me your not an artist, your a photograper. Then we have the very talented people who can manipulate photos like you never saw before, these people are artist in there own right. Good work people.
You know, one thing that I have noticed about DA is the Artisan Group is treated like the ugly stepchild here. Why is that? Come on folks, you know I'm right..!!! Hardly , hardly ever do we see something from the artisans group getting a DD, or just before you first log on never, ever do you see something from the artisan group featured. Why is that? I mean if you creat a classification of an art style along with others on an art site should'nt it share the love along with the popular(?) groups?
Now think about it, here's a group of people that take nothing and make something beautiful from it. Back in the old days we used to be refered to as CRAFTSMEN, and well respected within the communities. When did things change?
Now adays, all you have to do is take some naked pictures of a woman and within 24 hours you'll have well over 1,000 views and a bucket full of FAV's. Ain't that cool? I was thinking of some way that I might be able to put some TITS on my wire trees and boy would people sit up and take note then..:D
I guess what I'm really trying to say is that we really need to support the real masters of art and not these people that take pics of the naked ladies. Get you head out of the gutter..!!!
But to all of you who do support me, thanks so much for the personal time that you have sacrificed in watching my art. And PLEASE, PLEASE give more support to the Artisan Groups. THANKS, Kenney

I feel your pain, although I'm not really on a pageview/fav quest, as my profile can attest. However, I do agree with you on the fact that things most people consider "crafts" are hardly ever featured.I personally find stuff like your trees to be some of the coolest stuff I've seen on DA, and every time I see something unique and hand-constructed on the front page, I always find myself clicking it to see what it is. Most of the time, I end up getting blown away by it and add it to my favs. That was the case with your trees. I love metal and woodwork, and the artisan group does tend to be underrated on DA. Unfortunately, on the internet, you have an abundance of younger and/or odd people who tend to drool over furry pictures and emo photoshoots...That's more or less how it always goes in the real world; real talents are constantly overlooked while trashy, untalented fools are shoved into the limelight.

I know just what you mean, I've been on dA for just over a year and I just passed the 4000 pageview mark, I have never had a DD. I don't really worry about that so much, but I do wish that more of the Artisan work was seen more often. As a wire tree artist myself it would be nice. But hang in there, your trees are beautiful. Take care. Evey

This made my morning lol. I actually finished the tree I set out to do. I must say, for my first tree...I'm thoroughly pleased ^^

As soon as things settle down I'll be sure to send a link your direction :)

I guess the reward for artisans must be mostly in a personal sense of accomplishment and the adulation from a smaller (but generally more appreciative) circle of viewers.
I wish I could say that the inequity does not bother me, but I would be lying. I (and others like yourself) pour heart and soul into creations that barely cross the DA 'radar'.
I do like your somewhat tongue-in-cheek idea of a tree with tits (call it a "pair" tree:lmao:). That might indeed attract some attention.
Hang in there, Ken! You Do have a fan club.

Okay.. I have to disagree with Photography not being an art. But I'm biased because My dad's a photographer. Though he takes nature shots. With some of the phtographers here, it's all about the set up, which in it's self can be an art form.

True, it takes some of us more time and energy to go into our works... but I'm okay with slowly moving along with the page views.

The ones with the 5000 a day, well just proves that there are more pervs out there. Don't take it so hard. At least you get the views. *Smiles*

As :iconsavageworlds: said, hang in there. *Grins* And you have a fanbase? Where do I sign up to be on it? *Smiles*

It's not about the pageviews per se, it's trying to build NAME RECOGNITION along with my art. There's a lot of $$$ out there to be made from wire trees and this being a capitalist society, I want some $$$ too !!! :D If you have time go to ebay and search wire trees. One particular guy (Sal) is making over a thousand $$$ from a lot of his trees and in my opinion he's good but not as good as what I can creat.
But the difference between him and me is NAME RECOGNITION!!! Since I've become disabled a year and a half ago, my art is the only thing that has made the difference between me having a roof over my head and being homeless, so right now I'm on a quest for NAME RECOGNITION.
:iconmovinkindaslow:
Hey Tom, much thanks for your words of support. And also for understanding what point I was trying to get across by writing this journal. Like I told Tejinashinsen below that this is all about NAME RECOGNITION and without that recognition in the art world you can't command top dollar for your works'. I see these others on ebay that do what I do, (maybe not quite as well, my own opinion of course) and ask and get thousands of $$$ for there work. Why, NAME RECOGNITION, BABY !!! Talk to you later Tom.....
:iconmovinkindaslow:
Can hardly wait to see your first one, hurry, hurry !!! :D

Thanks for the kinds words Evey...
